SARAH “SALLY” JANE MOORE Sept. 20, 1966 – June 27, 2022
Monday, June 27, Sarah “Sally” Jane Moore, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 56.
She lived in Los Alamos, in a home she shared with her beloved dogs; Dexter and Ruby.
Sally was a free spirit. She had a love of laughter, the outdoors, and her friends. Many of her best times were spent cruising in the mountains with the love of her life Donny, camping with her friends and family, enjoying a cold drink at the bar with her pals, or caring for a furry animal with her son, Caleb. Sally fostered many puppies and kittens with her son while he was growing up in Los Alamos.
Her heart was as lovely as New Mexico sunsets. She also enjoyed her alone time. She enjoyed getting lost in a true crime t.v show or a criminal fiction series; allowing her imagination to run wild. Sally could also appreciate the little things, like petting her dogs whilst click-clacking away at a computer game.
Sally attended Los Alamos High School and graduated in class of 1984. She had many friends. Her free spirit and joyful attitude were also reflected in her professional life. She worked in several small businesses in town and enjoyed the people and animals that were part of the daily operations. She carried many jobs throughout her years in Los Alamos, but her most favorite was bartending at the VFW. There she met wonderful regulars and became very active in the support of veterans.
Sally was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donny Herrera and her wonderful mother, Carol Moore. She was the youngest of her siblings; Bob, Margaret (AJ) and Susan and leaves them behind to continue in this world. She is survived by her father, Stanley Moore (Mary), her son Caleb Moore (Leah) , her bonus daughter Terii Marriott, her dear confidants Ron Smith and Herb Fry, and her countless other beloved friends.
The family would like to invite friends and loved ones of Sally’s to attend the Celebration of Life, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday July 16 at the VFW in Los Alamos. Close friends are also invited to join family at her burial service at 11 a.m. July 25 at the National Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Santa Fe New Mexico. Donations can be made in person at the Celebration of Life.
