ROBERT CHARLES CROOK March 1, 1925 – Aug. 17, 2018

Robert Charles Crook, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Ilah Crook; parents, Tom and Ila Crook; brother, Tom Crook and sister, Marie Peckham.

Robert was born on March 1, 1925 in Marland, Oklahoma on the 101 Ranch. His family moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1934. He served in the United States Army Air Corps and was a P-51D Mustang Pilot during WWII.

Robert was an avid photographer, gardener, horseman, fisherman and lover of rodeo, dancing and country music.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Linda Mullins Spirio (Carmen), Becky Crook, Donna Crook-Jones (Spike); brother-in-law, Don Arnold; sister-in-law, Maxine Arnold; grandsons, Steven Mullins (Tonya) and Cale Jones (Dana); 4 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Ayngela, Liam and Avery and many other nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory in Española with a reception to immediately follow at the family home in Los Alamos. A private interment will take place at a later date.

Robert was a lifelong animal and wildlife lover and in lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Land of Enchantment Wildlife Foundation (LEWF).
