REBECCA EASLEY July 10, 1928 May 29, 2018

It is with great sorrow that I inform you that Rebecca Easley passed away on May 29, 2018. She would have been ninety on July 10, 2018.

Rebecca and her husband, George, were married in Kokomo, IN on June 18, 1950, just two weeks after they graduated from Indiana Central College. They have three sons: Matthew (Sue) in St. Louis, MO; Brett (Susan) in Santiago, Chile; and Jonathan (Paula) in Tucson, AZ. They are blessed with 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Becky taught English and Reading in Ohio, Indiana, Minnesota, and New Mexico. After her retirement from teaching, she served as an administrative assistant at the Los Alamos National Laboratory for over eight years, where she was privileged to take part in a number of important projects. She counted singing a vocal solo with the Minnesota Symphony Orchestra and directing The Mikado in Los Alamos to four packed houses among her major life accomplishments.

Her cancer was discovered in early 2016, but even after she decided to go into hospice care eleven months ago, she continued to play cards with friends, tend to her garden, and enjoy her family. A highlight this past year was traveling to St. Louis to visit with Matt’s family.

If you would like to make a gift in Rebecca’s memory, please consider giving to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, 3003 S. Country Club Road, Tucson, AZ 85713. Rebecca and George volunteered there for a number of years.

A private family service will be held later this June in Terre Haute, IN.
