Obituary: Patricia Ann (Giles) Pierotti June 6, 2023

PATRICIA A. PIEROTTI June 6, 2023

Patricia Ann (Giles) Pierotti, age 76, passed away on June 6, 2023. Patricia, the daughter of Robert and Gloria Giles, was born in Chicago, Illinois. Patricia’s father accepted a job with the National Park Service; therefore, Patricia lived in many different western national parks throughout her early life before settling in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Patricia was educated in Catholic elementary schools and high school at Loretto Academy. One of her fondest memories from high school was being chosen to sing at the Loretto Chapel at Christmas Mass, while standing on the Miraculous Spiral Staircase. Patricia earned her Bachelor of Science in education with a minor in psychology from St. Joseph College/University of Albuquerque.

She married Michael Pierotti in Santa Fe on December 28, 1968; they celebrated their 54th anniversary last year. Patricia started teaching 1st grade in California; she and Michael moved to Los Alamos a year later where they began their family. Patricia spent her days raising her three children, substitute teaching for Los Alamos Public Schools, and continuing her devotion to the Blessed Sacrament while helping as secretary for various church committees. Patricia never missed any of her children’s academic activities and traveled throughout New Mexico to attend the various club and varsity sports in support of her children. She was a wonderful listener and made friends easily because of her convivial nature. Patricia’s generosity, kindness, and faith drew people to her. She rejoined the Los Alamos National Laboratory in an administrative role in the Engineering Division, and later retired from the Human Resources Division.

Patricia and Michael moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2007 to experience live entertainment and the diversified culture of a big city. She loved spending time with visiting family and friends. She enjoyed the perpetual adoration of The Blessed Sacrament at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and St. Anthony of Padua. Patricia’s family and close friends loved her for her independent strength, faith, and unconditional love for her family.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband Michael Pierotti, her children Lisa Cosacchi, Michael Pierotti Jr. (Stephanie), and Jason Pierotti; grandchildren Christopher and Brianna Cosacchi; siblings Mary Ellen Freyermuth (Chuck), Deborah Rauner (Tom), Robert Giles Jr (Kathryn), and Maureen Blackhall (Craig); and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Dennis Giles.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua, interment will be in Los Alamos, New Mexico at a later date. Further details will be provided.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Patricia’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in her name.
