MARY DUFOUR July 9, 1931 – Feb. 17, 2021

Mary Dufour passed away on February 17, 2021, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, at the age of 89.

Mary was born on July 9, 1931 in Houtzdale, Pennsylvania, to George and Margaret Gallo. She attended Moshannon Mirror High School in Madera, Pennsylvania. She married Jules Dufour on September 18, 1947, in Houtzdale, Pennsylvania, and they were married for 63 beautiful years.

Mary and Jules moved to Los Alamos, NM, in 1950 and raised their family. Mary worked at a gift store for 20 years and was a manager for 15 of those years.

Jules and Mary were founding members of Bethlehem Lutheran Evangelical Church in Los Alamos, as well as charter members of the Pajarito Sams Club of Los Alamos. They both loved to go fishing in their boat at Heron Lake and RVing across the country.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Joann Hernandez of Rio Rancho, NM, Darline Polonis of Rio Rancho, NM, Diana (Ty) Arikan of Mountain Home, AR; son, Les Dufour (Linda) of Truth or Consequences, NM; grandsons, Patrick Hernandez of Rio Rancho, NM, Bob Romero of Albuquerque, NM, Adam Dufour of Tucson, AZ; great granddaughters, Amira Hernandez of Plainfield, CT, and Madelyn Romero of Albuquerque, NM; brother, George (Regina) Gallo of Elma, NY.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jules Dufour; sister, Bertha Kushner; grandson, Michael Romero; granddaughter, Michelle Romero; and son-in-law, Gary Hernandez.

A service will take place at Christ the Ray of Hope Lutheran Church in Albuquerque, NM, at a later date. Jules and Mary’s final resting place will be together in Brisbin, Pennsylvania.
