Mary Ann (Humphrey) Reimus passed away suddenly on Feb. 19, 2015 at the UNM hospital in Albuquerque with her family at her side. 

She was born April 16, 1959 in St. Louis, MO to Dr. George Humphrey and Rheta (Lucas) Humphrey. She lived most of her life in New Mexico, including the last 26 years in Los Alamos. 

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Paul Reimus of Los Alamos, son Nathan Reimus of Liverpool, NY, son Stephen Reimus of San Diego, CA, daughter Michelle Bennett (Thomas) of Goose Creek, SC, and grandson John Paul Bennett of Goose Creek, SC. She is also survived by her father Dr. George Humphrey of Plattsmouth, NE, brother Michael Humphrey of Bellevue, NE, brother Patrick Humphrey (Lori) of Lincoln, NE, brother Thomas Humphrey (Kelly) of Billings, MT, sister Sue Reichart (David) of Des Moines, IA, and sister Marie Hobbs (Matthew) of Atlanta, GA. She had 14 nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann graduated from McCurdy High School in Espanola, NM in 1977. She received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State University in 1982 and an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State in 1984. She and Paul were married at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth, NE on October 27, 1984. They lived and worked in Richland, WA after they were married until moving to Los Alamos in March 1989 where they have lived ever since.

She worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory for over 25 years. Her warm personality and generosity attracted many people to her, and she had many friends in the Los Alamos community and at LANL. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a longtime member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) Catholic Parish in Los Alamos.

A funeral mass for Mary Ann will be held at IHM, 3700 Canyon Road, Los Alamos, at 10 am on Wed. Feb. 25, with reception to follow in the parish hall. A rosary will be prayed at IHM on Tues. Feb. 24 at 7 pm. The family asks that donations in Mary Ann’s memory be made to the Annual Catholic Appeal on behalf of IHM or to a Catholic charity of the donor’s choice. Donations will be accepted at the IHM Parish office.
