LINDA LEE KOLB Feb. 19, 1952 – July 31, 2022

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Linda Lee Kolb, 70 of Glendale, Arizona on July 31, 2022.

Linda was born February 19, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois where she resided until 1982 when she moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Linda married Mike Kolb on January 13, 1971, and had two children, Brian and Michelle. She worked for the Los Alamos School District in various roles but made the most profound impact on elementary students as a reading teacher. An avid reader of mystery novels herself, she found joy in increasing students reading confidence, and watching them become avid readers themselves.

After her children were older, Linda began working for Los Alamos Medical Center in front office positions and eventually in medical billing where she really found her stride. Linda enjoyed her job and her coworkers, approaching each day with enthusiasm and positivity. She felt a sense of accomplishment at the end of each day knowing she helped others navigate the complicated insurance billing process.

Linda had a sense of adventure and relished cruise life. Some of her favorite voyages included immersing herself in the rich culture and traditions of Moorea Island in French Polynesia, flying in a helicopter over an erupting volcano in Kilauea, and four-wheeling to extreme heights in Bora Bora.

When Linda was home, she enjoyed the mild Arizona weather and watching classic movies such as Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, and the Sound of Music.

She was an avid supporter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Wildlife Society, Nature Conservatory, ASPCA, and the Humane Society. Her love for animals was seen in every aspect of her life including birthday cards to family and friends, trinkets, and stuffed animals throughout the house including her treasured stuffed giraffe, Jeffery.

Survived by her husband of 53 years Mike Kolb, children Brian and Michelle, son-in-law Dan, grandchildren Jayde and Lane, and her beloved pets Buddy and Boo.

Private services were held in Glendale, Arizona, and the family wishes to thank those who extended emotional support and care for Linda and the family in her final days.
