JOE TAPIA July 27, 1922 – Nov. 1, 2020
Joe Tapia, 98, beloved Father, was called to his eternal resting place on November 1, 2020.
He entered this world on July 27, 1922 in Chamita, NM, born to Luciano and Genoveva Tapia.
He was met in Heaven by his wife Margaret Tapia.
He is survived by his only daughter Lucille Wietzema and her husband Jake, by his eldest son David Tapia, by his youngest son Jonathan Tapia, and by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joe served in the Army from February 1942 to February 1946.
Joe was interred with his wife, Margaret, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, but due to COVID-19 restrictions in the state of New Mexico, Joe’s service was limited to the immediate family.
There will be a memorial scheduled at a later date when it is COVID-19 safe for mass gatherings.
