IVAR LINDSTROM APRIL 17, 2023 AND ALLENE LINDSTROM MAY 1, 2023

On Monday, April 17, 2023, Ivar Lindstrom, loving husband, passed away at the age of 93. On May 1, 2023, Allene Lindstrom, loving wife, passed away at the age of 90. 

Ivar was born in October of 1929 in Milligan, Nebraska to Ivar and Merrill Lindstrom. Allene was born in April of 1933 to James and Lucille Huffman.

Ivar married Allene in 1952 while attending the University of Oregon. Ivar obtained his PhD in Physics and Allene obtained her Bachelor’s in Secondary Education  from the University of Oregon. They moved to Los Alamos in 1958, where they raised their two children, sharing a sense of adventure in flying, skiing and camping around the Southwest. They were both active with the Pajarito Ski Club, and the Old-Timers Square Dance Club. Both were strong supporters of the Los Alamos Concert Association and enjoyed the concerts for many years as an important part of their love of music.

Ivar was a lifelong member of the Los Alamos Choral Society, and in his later years, he was the bass singer of the barbershop quartet with Lads of Enchantment. They were long term Mooney pilots; Allene was a flight instructor and a volunteer with the Civil Air Patrol for many years. Allene was a member of the Los Alamos County Council from 1976 to 1978.

Ivar and Allene are survived by two daughters, Teri and Lori, Teri’s husband, Rex Molisani, two grandsons, Matthew and Jason, granddaughter, Allee, Matthew’s wife, Jessica, and great-granddaughter, Olivia.

Per Ivar’s request, we will celebrate their lives with a pipe organ recital in their memory, given by Margaret Mary Sauppe at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church on July 8, 2023, at 3 PM. A small reception will follow.
