CHRISTOPHER FITZGIBBON April 5, 1949 – May 29, 2022

Christopher Fitzgibbon, a resident of Los Alamos passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy Scott and Francis Joseph Fitzgibbon, Sr.; brother, Joe Fitzgibbon; nephew, Timothy Fitzgibbon; and brother in-law, R. Michael Trujillo.

Born in Los Alamos on April 5, 1949, Chris attended Los Alamos public schools, graduating in 1967. He was a talented athlete in high school, lettering in baseball at LAHS. He continued a lifelong passion for baseball, from childhood pick up games played in a vacant lot by neighborhood kids living on Oakwood and Sage Loops to closely following the National and American Leagues’ standings and statistics. After an honorable discharge from the United States Navy, Chris continued his higher education at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales and at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He worked for many years in the restaurant and hospitality industry.

Christopher is survived by his five siblings, Mary Ellen Laub and husband Rick, of California; Kathleen Fitzgibbon, of Arizona; Teresa Agnes Fitzgibbon and husband Harrison Schmitt, Georgann Scott Fitzgibbon, James Walter Fitzgibbon and wife Eva, nephews Rob Trujillo, Brian Trujillo, Scott Fitzgibbon, and niece Victoria Fitzgibbon all of New Mexico.

A memorial Mass for Christopher will be celebrated by Father John Daniel on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
