Obituary: Bohumila (Bo) Anne Ebaugh

BOHUMILA (BO) ANNE EBAUGH

Bohumila (Bo) Anne Ebaugh, 84, of Chandler, Arizona passed away on April 24, 2023. Bo was born in Hyskov, Czech Republic on August 17, 1938, to Antone R and Barbara Anne Kremser.

At 10 years old, her family left the Czech Republic making their way to Australia where she finished her education while excelling in swimming and gymnastics with Olympic aspirations. The family immigrated to the United States in 1958 with assistance from a host family in Elyria, Ohio.

Bohumila worked as a bank teller and soon discovered she had a secret admirer who would switch lines just so he could speak to her. Larry and Bohumila were married on August 17, 1963, and a year later they moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico where they started a family. Bohumila worked for the Los Alamos School District until she retired in 1995.

Larry and Bohumila spent a great deal of time with their lifelong friends Ron and Jane Wagner, Jim and Ruth Kearns and Joe and Fran DiMarco. The families spent countless holidays and weekends together.

Bohumila was an avid reader. Her preferred authors were Nora Roberts and Tom Clancy; reading every book multiple times. Her family often joked that she should be able to write her own romance or mystery novel! She continued to love swimming as an adult.  She spent weekends with her family camping and exploring the New Mexico back country via 4×4 and hiking. Bohumila was known for her Stuffed Bell Peppers recipe and her talent for making a great Manhattan.

After Larry’s passing, Bohumila moved to Chandler, AZ to be closer to her family. She was extremely helpful with her young grandchildren, enjoyed water aerobics at the gym and attended her grandkids sporting events.

Bohumila was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Ebaugh, her parents, Antone and Barbara Kremser, brother Joe and Sister-in-Law, Diane Kremser.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Matthew Teel of Las Vegas, NV; son and daughter-in-law John and Danielle Ebaugh of Chandler, AZ; daughter and son-in-law Cathy and John Breen of Clearwater, FL; Grandchildren, Sarah Hull, Allison, Cora, and Ian Ebaugh, Amanda (Patrick) Allaire and Jay (Karissa) Breen.
