ALLEN MARTINEZ Feb. 7, 1945 – April 14, 2021

Allen Martinez, 76, loving Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Friend, and well-known businessman, passed away on April 14, 2021, in Rio Rancho, NM.

Allen was well-known for his building and remodeling business, Al-Con Building and Remodeling that he owned and operated for 43 years in the Los Alamos area. His son has been operating the business since Allen’s retirement.

Allen, his wife Connie and their three children moved to Los Alamos in 1973. After retiring, Allen and Connie moved to Rio Rancho in 2015.

Allen enjoyed fishing, camping, wood-working in his shop, surfing the internet for the latest world news, watching old Westerns, going to the casino, and eating maple long johns!

Allen is survived by his wife of 59 years Connie; his son Raymond (Lisa); daughters Yvette (Patrick) and Nicole; His beloved Granddaughter RaeAnn, and other Grandchildren Sean, Ashley, Christina, Kathryn, and Jarrett; Great Grandchildren Leandro, Aliyanna, Jayden, Alexis, and Adam. His is also survived by many brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Also touching Allen’s life are his dear and closest friends, Jim and Lila, in addition to several other close friends and neighbors.

Allen was preceded in death by both of his parents, mother and father-in-law, and cherished pets Klondike and Chessnee, all of whom he has been reunited with.

A private celebration of life was held in Rio Rancho on April 17, 2021. Allen will be cremated and his ashes spread in a location that was dear to him.

The family would like to thank the Rio Rancho Police and Fire Departments for their quick response, and the staff at Presbyterian Rust Hospital for their loving care. A special thanks also to French Funerals and Cremations.

Allen was an animal lover, and any donations can be made in his name to any animal shelter or animal humane organization.
