NNSA Notice Of Proposed Wetland Action At LANL

NNSA News:

The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Los Alamos Field Office is proposing to install storm water controls to improve water quality and allow surface water management in the Mortandad watershed at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The construction work will involve disturbing a small portion of a wetland. There are no negative, long-term impacts to the wetland expected under the proposed project.

In accordance with 10 Code of Federal Regulations 1022 Compliance with Floodplain and Wetland Environmental Review Requirements, NNSA has prepared a wetland assessment for the proposed action.

The Wetland Assessment for the Middle Mortandad Controls Supplemental Environmental Project at Los Alamos National Laboratory is available in the LANL Electronic Public Reading Room (http://permalink.lanl.gov/object/tr?what=info:lanl-repo/eprr/ESHID-602875), on the Los Alamos Field Office NEPA Documents webpage or in hard copy at the LANL Public Reading Room, 94 Cities of Gold Road, Pojoaque, NM. The 15-day public comment period for this assessment ends February 23, 2018.
