NMSA Presents Visual Arts Exhibition At Warehouse 21

NMSA News:

SANTA FE  New Mexico School for the Arts will present “Delightful Decay,” an innovative visual arts exhibition featuring drawings and sculptures from NMSA’s 9th grade visual arts class, March 24 through April 1 at Warehouse 21. The school will hold an opening reception for the exhibition 5-7 p.m., March 24 at Warehouse 21.

Working alongside Guest Artist Chris Collins and drawing and sculpture faculty at NMSA, the 9th grade visual artists at the New Mexico School for the Arts have developed sculptures and drawings in response to treasures found and observed at Hansen’s Lumber Yard and historic mill. Collins’ sculpture often modifies or evolves from found objects and spent technology.

Together, the freshmen visual artists explored found material and processed lumber at Hansen by walking, drawing, and scavenging. The exhibition at Warehouse 21 reflects on the accumulation, history, beauty, and decay of manufactured objects.
