NMDOT News:

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is warning the public of a text message scam asking for personal information.

People are reporting they have received a text message claiming to be from the NMDOT that says the recipient ‘is required to validate their driver’s license.’

DO NOT click on the link provided. This text was NOT sent by the NMDOT. It is a scam.

The NMDOT does not send out text messages and the department does not deal with anything pertaining to drivers’ licenses. That is all done through the Motor Vehicle Division, which has nothing to do with the text message.

An example of the scam text has also been posted on the NMDOT Facebook page.
