NMDOT News:
SANTA FE – NMDOT has released the first draft of the Prioritized Statewide Bicycle Network Plan (NM Bike Plan) on the project website and will be hosting three public meetings to share the draft.
Meeting times and dates:
These meetings will provide New Mexico residents with a unique opportunity to learn about and comment on the future of bicycle infrastructure on New Mexico owned and maintained roadways across the state. At the meetings, NMDOT will share the results of public input received late last year, technical analyses, and the draft key components of the NM Bike Plan: a prioritized statewide bicycle infrastructure network and design guidance. Plan information and documents are available on the project website.
The plan considers how best to provide New Mexico residents and visitors with a safe and connected bicycle network on state maintained and owned roads and highways. NMDOT together with Bohannan Huston, Inc. and Alta Planning and Design, consultants for the plan development, will be available to answer questions and discuss the long-term implementation strategy of the plan.
What to expect at the meetings:
- Overview of the statewide bicycle network and region specific maps
- Summary of the NM Bike Plan methods and outputs,
- Opportunity to learn about and provide input on key components of the draft Prioritized Statewide Bicycle Network Plan and bicycle facility design guidelines
