NMDOT News:SANTA FE ― The New Mexico Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that maintenance crews will be out in full force conducting litter pickup along U.S. 84/285 from just North of Santa Fe to Pojoaque and on I-25 from La Bajada to Old Pecos Trail Exit in Santa Fe.
Wednesday Sept. 25 – motorists are advised to watch for maintenance crews conducting litter pickup along the U.S. 84/285 corridor from Pojoaque to Santa Fe from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Thursday Sept. 26 – motorists are advised to watch for maintenance crews conducting litter pickup along the I-25 corridor from La Bajada to Santa Fe from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“We are dedicating the next two days to litter pickup on the U.S. 84/285 and I-25 corridors to provide for cleaner and safer roadsides, said Paul Brasher, District Engineer. You will see many NMDOT employees wearing bright reflective green safety vests over the next couple of days picking up trash along the Right-Of-Way, as we work to keep New Mexico roadsides beautiful.”
There will be lots of activity and additional truck traffic collecting the trash bags; motorists are advised to use caution and watch for workers in the area.
Drivers are urged to proceed with caution, watch for maintenance personnel in the area; observe message boards and reduce speed to the posted limit.
