New Mexico Health Department: Activations Surge With COVID-19 Exposure App ‘NM Notify’

NMDOH News:

…“NM Notify” nearing 15% adoption rate in first 10 days

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) launched “NM Notify”, a free, statewide COVID-19 exposure notification system 10 days ago. This safe, voluntary, anonymous service is available to all New Mexicans on iPhone and Android.

“NM Notify” does not collect, store or transmit any personal information, nor does it track movement. It uses your phone’s Bluetooth function to monitor proximity between phones and informs participants if they have been exposed to someone who has verified they are infected with COVID-19. “NM Notify” then recommends appropriate next steps and provides guidance from CDC and NMDOH.

“This is a safe, anonymous way to stop the spread of COVID-19,” NMDOH Secretary Dr. Tracie Collins said. “As many counties move into the Green and Turquoise levels, this is an excellent tool to prevent unanticipated spikes. The more people that use this app, the more effective it becomes.”
