Recent absconder Manuel Edward Armijo
NMCD News:
SANTA FE – The New Mexico Corrections Department (NMCD) Security Threat Intelligence Unit and the United States Marshals Service have captured one of New Mexico’s most wanted absconders, a parolee with a violent criminal background who failed to report to his parole office last month.
Manuel Edward Armijo, 30, was captured without incident Thursday in his hometown of Las Cruces after state and federal correctional officers conducted a two-day surveillance operation. Armijo was paroled in June of this year after serving 13 months of his two-year sentence for robbery. However, he failed to report Nov. 22 to his parole office as a condition of his release.
Armijo was placed on the New Mexico’s Most Wanted Absconders list because of his criminal record, which includes a prior conviction for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
