SANTA FE — In response to the significant economic impact due to COVID-19, the New Mexico Tourism Department will review the first phase of the department’s planned recovery strategy for the tourism industry through a webcast scheduled for 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 2.
The webcast will feature NMTD leadership and staff, along with representatives from the Department of Workforce Solutions, Department of Finance & Administration, and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The panel will review immediate assistance offered through the CARES Act, grant funding opportunities, digital readiness initiatives and mechanisms to capture and analyze economic impact, among other subjects. A complete agenda for the webcast is listed on the Tourism Department’s website.
“We’ve reached a point where we need to start identifying strategies for economic recovery,” Cabinet Secretary Jen Paul Schroer said. “The Tourism Department is committed to working with tourism industry constituents to identify recovery strategies that benefit all of New Mexico.”
