NM State Police Begin 89th Recruit School

SANTA FE  Out of hundreds of applicants for the New Mexico State Police recruit school, 57 recruits were present Sunday to begin their 22-week journey to become New Mexico State Police officers.
Chief Kassetas addressed the recruits during the family orientation ceremony and congratulated them on being part of the process. He also reminded them of the challenges ahead and the growth they would experience if they succeed to the end of the academy journey. 
Chief Kassetas challenged the recruits stating, “Today, you will begin to understand that the sacrifices and hard work you endure will be well worth the honor and commitment felt in the law enforcement profession.”
The New Mexico State Police welcomed its new recruits and said it is eager to prepare them for the mission of tradition, pride, and honor.
