The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) along with Albuquerque Asphalt Inc. will begin a pavement rehabilitation project Saturday, Sept. 11 on N.M. 502 in Los Alamos.
The 4-mile project from mile marker 2 to 6 is expected to last 15 working days and will include new pavement and striping.
Crews will work 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays on the Main Hill Road section, which will be closed during working hours, and traffic diverted onto the truck route.
Crews will work 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays on the Tewa Loop to Eastgate Drive section. There will be traffic control personnel at each end of the closure, and a pilot car will guide motorists through the work zone.
At the end of each workday, all traffic control devices will be removed, and the roadway reopened to motorists. No work will be performed Thursday and Friday of each week, and the roadway will be open to motorists.
Motorists should use caution, obey posted speed limits, expect delays and plan accordingly.
