PURGATORY RESORT News:

DURANGO, Colo. — Nightscapes and sunrise are a photographer’s dream at Purgatory Resort.

These photos of the starry sky above the Needle Mountains and early morning wildflowers were captured July 29.

Purgatory Resort is open for daily activities through Aug. 16. Weekend operations will run Aug. 22 to Oct. 4, with the resort open on Labor Day as well.

Summer activities include the Inferno Mountain Coaster, mountain biking, alpine slide, scenic chairlift ride, treasure panning, paddle board and boat rentals and a kids off-road track.
