Catch the latest findings from current explorations of the red planet with Scientist Roger Wiens, 6 p.m. today, June 10 on Zoom. There is a $10 fee, free for BSMA members.

NASA’s biggest rover, Perseverance, landed on Mars in February with a mission to collect and eventually return samples to Earth. Perseverance’s companion is the Ingenuity helicopter.

Wiens, leader of the rover’s SuperCam laser instrument, will share the latest details of scientists’ groundbreaking adventures with Percy and Ingenuity. Night with a Nerd is a presentation of the Bradbury Science Museum Association (BSMA).

Wiens is a scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory and has been involved in several of NASA’s robotic missions, including the Curiosity rover’s ChemCam, Genesis, Stardust, Mars Odyssey, Lunar Prospector, and Deep Space-One. He is the author of “Red Rover: Inside the Story of Robotic Space Exploration, from Genesis to the Mars Rover Curiosity.”
