SPORTS News:

New Mexico’s finest rugby players head off today to a national prestigious camp hosted by the 2016 USA Eagles 7s Olympic rugby team.

High school players from across the state will represent New Mexico proudly at this national camp. The camp is being held at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Los Alamos is sending two of its very own players: Preston Brown and Nate Rogers.

Coming off of the heels of an inaugural 10 man high school state championship season (coached by Demetrio and Mateo Cardiel, who also coach and play for the Albuquerque Aardvarks), both gents are honored and very excited to attend, learn, expand the sport and spread the general good word about the fantastic game of rugby.

Both Brown and Rogers played for the New Mexico All-star team last summer. Brown will continue to play for the Nukes and Rogers plays for the NMSU Chiles and Las Cruces Horny Toads.

The community is invited to join in congratulating, celebrating and supporting these talented young men, the Los Alamos Nukes, Los Alamos Bombshells, New Mexico All-star rugby and the Los Alamos Youth rugby team in their quest for continued rugby success!
