New Mexico State Fair (NMSF) officials have announced that the State Fair Midway will open Sept. 4-7 for a preview weekend. The rest of the Fair will remain closed until Sept. 10.
“Adrenaline junkies, this is your weekend!” General Manager Dan Mourning said. “Midway Preview Weekend is a great opportunity for everyone to preview our incredible Midway at an affordable price.”
All Midway Preview Weekend guests should enter and park via Gate 1 on Central, with lots opening one hour before the Midway opens. There will be no public access to the Midway from Gate 3 on San Pedro.
The Midway is set to open at 5 p.m., Sept. 4 and 3 p.m., Sept. 5-7. During this time, the Fair will be closed, with opening day scheduled for Sept. 10.
Admission will not be charged, and ride wristbands will be available for purchase on-site only.
Wristband prices for Midway Preview Weekend are below:
- Friday, Sept. 4: $30.00
- Saturday, Sept. 5: $35.00
- Sunday Sept. 6: $35.00
- Monday, Sept. 7: $35.00

The 2026 New Mexico State Fair is scheduled from Sept. 10-20, and will celebrate the 100 Year Anniversary of Route 66.
