SANTA FE – The Life Center Foundation has presented a $100,000 Legacy Grant to New Mexico School for the Arts (NMSA) to support the renovation of a new Guitar Studio on the school’s campus, helping create an inspiring space where young musicians can learn, collaborate, and grow.
The Legacy Grant was celebrated during a small ceremony July 9 on NMSA’s campus, attended by board members and staff from both organizations, as well as NMSA Guitar students. The award ceremony recognized a shared commitment to expanding access to exceptional arts education for New Mexico’s talented young artists between NMSA and The Life Center Foundation.
The renovated Guitar Studio will provide students with an upgraded learning environment and reflect NMSA’s continued investment in providing students with professional-caliber facilities that match the excellence of its academic and arts programs. As renovation moves forward, the new Guitar Studio will become a hub for artistic exploration, technical excellence, and music education.
“The guitar is woven into the history and identity of New Mexico,” explained NMSA Guitar Instructor Randy Sanchez, who was present at the legacy grant award ceremony. “This renovation is more than an investment in a building—it’s an investment in our students, our culture, and the future of music in our state.”
NMSA serves students from across New Mexico as the state’s only tuition-free, statewide, public arts high school, preparing young artists for higher education, professional careers, and lives of creative leadership.
