SANTA FE — The Cannabis Control Division of the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department will hold a public hearing at 9 a.m. today, Dec. 9, to gather input on new rules as well as amendments to existing rules involving quality control, inspection and testing of cannabis.
Specific topics include licensing and permitting requirements for testing laboratories, research laboratories, cannabis consumption areas, training and education programs, and cannabis server permits.
The amendments and proposed rules are available online for public review.
Members of the media and the public can register or join the hearing using the link on this page of the CCD website.
The Cannabis Regulation Act, passed by the Legislature earlier this year, requires that all regulations for the production, manufacture and sale of adult-use cannabis be in place by Jan. 1, 2022. The CRA requires adult-use cannabis sales to begin no later than April 1, 2022.
