New Mexico Governor, Officials Hold COVID-19 Update

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham this afternoon presenting the latest update on the COVID-19 pandemic and the state’s response. She demonstrates various types of PPE including masks, respirators and gowns. The governor said she thinks the public wearing cloth masks could help slow the spread of the virus – not medical grad masks but simple cotton masks. She made it clear she is not requiring New Mexicans to wear do-it-yourself cotton masks. She went on to stress that citizens need to do more in terms of social distancing, staying at home and keeping nonessential businesses closed. Avoid going to stores in large groups and avoid congregating for Easter services, she said. Also urging citizens to do everything possible to avoid contracting the virus to assist hospitals from becoming overwhelmed. The stay at home order is extended to April 30. Screenshot/LADP
