ALBUQUERQUE – The District 1 Albuquerque Office of the New Mexico Environment Department will be relocating during the last week in June from 5500 San Antonio Dr., NE, to 121 Tijeras Ave., NE, in the vicinity of Broadway and Tijeras.

“NMED’s District 1 Office at 5500 San Antonio will remain open for business until our new office at the Springer Square Building on 121 Tijeras Avenue, NE, is up and running on  July 1, NMED Deputy Cabinet Secretary Butch Tongate said. 

Members of the public are advised to be prepared for possible delays when contacting the NMED District One Office during the relocation period of June 22-30. 

• NMED’s main District 1 telephone line 505-222-9500 will remain operational during regular business hours (M-F, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.). 
• Members of the public calling NMED’s District 1 office may encounter voicemail occasionally, and/or roll over to NMED’s Santa Fe headquarters. NMED’s District 1 main number (505-222-9500) and staff phone numbers will remain the same, during and following the move.
• Members of the public visiting NMED’s former offices at 5500 San Antonio Drive, NE, may experience occasional delays, as they seek services between Monday June 22nd and Tuesday June 30th owing to the relocation activity, as files, phones, and furniture are packed and moved.
• Members of the public emailing NMED’s District 1 staff may experience delays in response time while computer systems and hardware are transitioned to the new location. During the relocation period, NMED District One staff may also be reached via email sent to: nmenv-outreach@state.nm.us.

The New Mexico Environment Department Headquarters office is in Santa Fe with 22 district and field offices throughout the state.
