New Mexico Department Of Cultural Affairs First Free Sunday Jan. 8

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs announces that the first free Sunday for New Mexico residents at its four Santa Fe museums, two Albuquerque Museums, and seven historic sites, is Sunday, Jan. 8, because Sunday, Jan. 1, is New Year’s Day and the Museums will be closed for the holiday.
 
A previous release did not clarify that the free admission is for New Mexico residents only.
 
The New Mexico Museum of Art, the New Mexico Museum of History/Palace of the Governors, the Museum of International Folk Art, and the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, all in Santa Fe, will offer free admission Jan. 8, to New Mexico residents. The two Albuquerque Museum’s offering free admission to New Mexico residencs Jan. 8, are the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science and the National Hispanic Cultural Center.
 
The historic sites are the Lincoln Historic Site, Jemez Historic Site, Fort Stanton Historic Site, Fort Selden Historic Site, Coronado Historic Site, El Camino Real Historic Trail Site, and the Bosque Redondo Memorial at Fort Sumner.
