Three New Mexico coworking and incubator spaces, projectY cowork Los Alamos, the Santa Fe Business Incubator and FatPipe ABQ have announced a joint collaboration that allows their respective members and tenants to work collaboratively from the other facilities in the state.
To kick off the collaboration in a more formal way, the spaces will host a mixer 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 at the Violet Crown Cinema in Santa Fe to celebrate New Mexico entrepreneurs, freelancers and remote employees who work from these coworking and incubator spaces. The networking event, which is also free to others who would like to learn more about the coworking model.
“This event will help introduce members and tenants to each other, encourage networking for personal and professional connections, as well as educate those new to coworking about the model of effectively working solo, but not alone,” said Lauren McDaniel, director of projectY cowork, the non-profit coworking space that opened in Los Alamos last summer. “projectY is pleased to collaborate with both of these dynamic spaces, which are helping grow the entrepreneurial economy here in New Mexico.”
The Santa Fe Business Incubator (SFBI), a 501(c)(3) organization, is one of the state’s longest-running programs and in 2006 became the first New Mexico Certified Business Incubator under New Mexico Economic Development Department’s Business Incubator Certification Program. It is now a leader in economic development in the community. In addition to its coworking space, the SFBI has a shared BioScience Lab, a Makers Lab, semi-private cubical spaces, and drop-in office space.

FatPipe ABQ opened in 2014 in downtown Albuquerque as a privately funded collaborative workspace. It plays a key role in supporting Albuquerque’s startups and solo and remote workers, is the location for 1 Million Cups ABQ every Wed morning at 9 a.m., and was instrumental in bringing AOL co-founder Steve Case to New Mexico last year as part of his Rise of the Rest Tour.
