New Hearing Loop at Fuller Lodge Helps Hearing Impaired

COUNTY News:

There’s good news for those with a hearing impairment who may have had difficulty hearing presentations at Fuller Lodge — Los Alamos County recently completed installation of a new T-coil hearing loop inside the large Pajarito Room commonly used for events.

The hearing assistance system ties into the portable sound system used at the lodge and allows individuals with T-coil hearing aids to hear presentations better. Set up for Fuller Lodge events will now incorporate activation of the T-coil loop as a standard set-up when the sound system is booked as part of facility rental.

Facilities’ staff worked with the contractor to ensure the loop was installed so that it won’t be noticed by the public, in order to preserve the historic atmosphere and integrity of the lodge. The T-coil was attached to floor joists underneath the wooden floor and loops the entire Pajarito Room from south fireplace to north fireplace, providing full coverage for large gatherings.

The County contracted with ATS Resources in Albuquerque – the same company that installed a T-coil hearing loop in the Betty Ehart Senior Center a few years ago.
