LAPSF News:

The Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation announces the completion of a new mural in Griffith Gymnasium at Los Alamos High School.

The public is invited to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, in the gym.

Many student artists answered the call for original art work to adorn the east wall of Griffith Gym. The mural honors the creativity and memory of Isaac Hayden, and was collaboratively paid for by his family, friends, the LAHS class of 1994 and Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation.

It adorns the east wall of the gym and was created by Los Alamos High School seniors Jenny Dinkel and Ashley Roybal. The professional mural painting team of Georgina Gettman Latino, Huy Phan and Raymond Sandoval transformed the students’ vision into a reality, staying true to the students’ design and color choices.

Student artists Dinkel and Roybal were challenged to use one design element from the original work of Isaac Hayden, to use four colors in addition to black and white and to give a visual representation of the LAHS community.
