National History Day Club Hosts Bake Sale Tuesday

Los Alamos High School National History Day Club is hosting a bake sale 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 26 at Los Alamos National Bank.

NHD or National History Day is an educational club at the highschool designed to promote the study of history. Students create project based on a theme, this years theme was Leadership and Legacy, and then compete with the projects at regional, state, and national levels.

LAHS NHD students, Kaylen Pocaterra, Kim Pestovich, Daniel Wang, Miriam Wallstrom, Katie Delgado, Nate Delgado and Kathryn McClenahan all placed at the State Competition in Albuquerque in April. They are looking forward to their nationals trip to Washington, D.C. where they will be competing with either a documentary, poster board, website, paper or play.

The students are hosting Tuesday’s bake sale at LANB in order to fundraise for their trip to Washington, D.C.
