National Governors Association Meeting In Santa Fe

DPNM News:

Today at the National Governors Association summer meetings in Santa Fe, Democratic governors will hold a news conference to address the importance of Democratic leadership at the state level, and the historic significance of the 2018 gubernatorial election cycle.

DGA Chair Gov. Jay Inslee (D-WA) will be joined by Govs. Dan Malloy (D-CT), John Hickenlooper (D-CO) and others in highlighting Democratic governors’ priorities at this NGA conference – and the significance of state leadership given recent Supreme Court developments and Trump administration actions.

America’s Democratic governors are the first line of defense against damaging policies from Trump’s Washington, a right-wing judiciary and Republican gerrymandering. The Supreme Court news increases the responsibilities of governors and the stakes of this November’s gubernatorial elections.

Democrats will be on offense this November with 36 races around the country, and a historic opportunity to grow the Democratic Party from the states up.
