National Expert To Discuss Conflict In Israel Sunday

Laura Green

HADASSAH News:

The Los Alamos Chapter of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, will host a question and answer session on the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Arabs at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 17 at Club House facilities at the Los Alamos Golf Course.

All are welcome. Donations will be accepted.

The speaker is Laura Green, a regional leader of Hadassah and a national leader of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

Green is very well informed on the history and present state of the conflict and has very extensive experience with travel in Israel and also to other countries in the Middle East, including Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt.  In addition, she has been leading tour groups to Israel for many years.

Learn the history of the conflict between Palestinians and Jews in Israel, as well as the history of the Zionist movement, the cultural and religious connotations of Jewish identity, how Israelis view the situation in the Middle East and much more.

During the discussion period, questions and answers should seek to promote civil discourse on this important issue.

Green is a fourth generation life member of Hadassah. She was born and raised on Long Island. Green has been fascinated with Israel since her youth and has clocked more than 50 visits to Israel. She has escorted people of all religions on tours of Israel. All of the tours visit Hadassah Hospital, Ein Karem, which treats everyone, regardless of ethnicity, religion or nationality.

Green meets regularly with members of the Utah Congressional Delegation and a source of information to Rep. Jason Chaffetz and Sen. Mike Lee.

Green began speaking about Israel during the bad press the country received during the Second Intifada. She has lectured on Israel on numerous occasions around the west, and recently was in the Congressional Gallery to hear Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu during his address to a Joint Session of Congress.
