Los Alamos
I admit I was a little worried going into LAHS’s graduation weekend: Not only did the Parks and Recreation Department have Big Head Todd and the Monsters coming into town for the Summer Concert Series, which was going to bring in a larger-than-average crowd, but the next day was Senior Appreciation Night.
It’s a lot for one county department to be dealing with on a single weekend. Luckily, Los Alamos County’s Parks and Recreation Department is top-notch, and luckily they had a ton of help from many, many dedicated community volunteers. Both events went off without a hitch. My son reported that he and his friends had an excellent time at Senior Appreciation Night in particular … he wasn’t sure what to expect, but his expectations were exceeded.
I can’t overstate how grateful I am that the county (LAC and volunteers both) put such effort into this special event. It’s just one of the many things that makes me so glad we live up here!
