ALBUQUERQUE ― The New Mexico Museum of Natural History Foundation has announced the selection of Sherri L. Wells as its new executive director.
“The Board of Directors is very pleased that Sherri has agreed to take on this role, as her personality, talents and experience make her uniquely qualified for the position of executive director. I have no doubt that the Foundation will thrive under her leadership,” ssaid Foundation Board Chairman Deron B. Knoner of Keleher & McLeod, P.A.
Wells’s leadership experience includes executive planning, administration, communication, marketing and fund development for non-profits and for-profit entities including a national business publication and a local non-profit. She has served on a multitude of boards in New Mexico, Seattle and Atlanta.
“I am honored to be chosen for this important role. I am dedicated to our mission of advancing and supporting life-long learning and cultural enrichment in our state,” Wells said. “The Foundation works with the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science to develop dynamic programs and services to fit the ever-changing needs of our community and audience. As science education becomes increasingly important to our competitiveness as a world-class city and nation, the Foundation and the Museum are partnering to develop STEM classrooms of the future.”
