Mini-Sumo Robot Competition Changes Location to Ashley Pond

The second Mini-Sumo Robot Tournament sponsored by The Hive has changed its location.

The competition will now take place at Ashley Pond as part of the Los Alamos County Fair. General contest rules are available at http://www.robotroom.com/SumoRules.html. Robots may be purchased or built by the contestant. The Competition is open to all mini-sumos that meet the size and weight limits.

“We had seven entries in our first competition and hope to have even more for this second competition,” Hive Steward Dave Jones said.

The Competition is Aug. 10:

  • 10 a.m.-noon ─ individual testing/tuning on the competition field;
  • 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. ─ registration, including adherence to the rules; and
  • 12:30 p.m. ─ compete until there is a winner.
