Millicent Rogers Museum Opens Pastel Show In Taos Friday

The 29th National Pastel Painting Exhibition opens Friday, July 9 at the Millicent Rogers Museum (MRM) in Taos.

The Pastel Show is a juried exhibition presented by the Pastel Society of New Mexico and features 60 artworks on view at the Museum by artists from around the world, with more available online.

The exhibition takes place in the Museum’s Gallery 9 and in the lobby, and the artworks will be for sale.

The Museum is hosting a public reception, free and open to all ages, 5:30-7:30 p.m. with an award ceremony at 6:15 p.m. Friday, July 9. Some of the participating artists will attend this event.

New Mexico artist Vasili Katakis will give a live painting demonstration 1-3 p.m. Saturday, July 10 in the Museum courtyard. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask him questions throughout his presentation. The presentation is free and open to people of all ages with membership or paid Museum admission.

The Museum is now open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week at 1504 Millicent Rogers Road in Taos. Visit the Museum website here.
