LANL Deputy Director For Operations Mark Davis

This month’s meeting of the Military Order Of The World Wars (MOWW) is Tuesday, July 21. This month’s speaker is Deputy Director Mark Davis for Operations at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
Davis will provide a Laboratory update through the lens of the present dynamic geopolitical situation and the focus on stockpile modernization.
In his role at LANL, Davis is responsible for five Associate Laboratory Directorates, and two Offices, including: Business Management; Infrastructure and Capital Projects; Facilities & Operations; Environment, Safety, Health and Quality; Defense Protection; Mission Assurance & Prime Contracts Office and Human Resources.
The Laboratory is a principal contributor to the U.S. Department of Energy mission to maintain the nation’s nuclear weapons stockpile. Los Alamos uses innovative science and technology to enhance global nuclear security and protect the world. The Laboratory has an annual operating budget of approximately $5 billion, roughly 18,000 employees, and a nearly 40-square-mile site featuring some of the most specialized scientific equipment and supporting infrastructure in the world.
This month’s MOWW is in the Los Alamos Research Park building room 203A. The Military Order of the World Wars meetings are open to all interested people for dinner and program with RSVP, or the program only at no cost. The cost for dinner is $25. The meeting will be a hybrid session both live and Zoom. Zoom will start at about 6 p.m. Zoom details will be in the reminder email two days before the meeting.

The principal objectives of the MOWW are continuing service to the Nation, and patriotic educational opportunity for the nation’s youth and citizens.
