Military Order Of The World Wars Meets Tomorrow

Military Order of the World Wars will meet Tuesday, July 19 at the Los Alamos County Sheriff’s Posse Shack on North Mesa.
 
This Month speakers are Joyce Eyster, Kathleen Hoverson and Jean Wilson. They will be a panel talking about life in Los Alamos after the end of World War ll. Joyce and Kathleen were young wives arriving in 1948 and 1949 respectively, and Jean was a young girl when she arrived in 1943.
 
Note the change in Location for this month only. The Posse Lodge is on North Mesa Road. Take Diamond Drive past the Golf Course and straight through the traffic circle and up the hill. Follow the road around for about a mile. The lodge is on the left, and there is perking on both sides of the street.
 
The meeting begins with a social period at 6 p.m., followed by a brief business meeting and dinner at 6:25 p.m. The presentation begins at about 7:15 p.m. The Military Order of the World Wars dinner meetings are open to interested citizens for the dinner and program with RSVP, or the program only at no cost.

An Act of Congress chartered the Military Order of the World Wars in 1919 as a national patriotic organization. The principal objectives of the MOWW are continuing service to the Nation, and patriotic educational opportunity for the nation’s youth and citizens. Current youth programs are focused upon annual Youth Leadership Conferences for high school students presented in New Mexico by its related Sunbelt Patriotic Youth Leadership Conferences, Inc.Current, former and retired federally commissioned officers of all branches of the United States Uniformed Services are eligible for membership in the MOWW and are especially invited to attend our meetings.
