Mesa Library Presents Read Books With Pride June 23

COUNTY News:

The staff of Los Alamos County Library System presents Read Books with Pride: An Evening of LGBTQ+ Literature 7-8 p.m. Thursday, June 23.

The library has a variety of reads in honor of Pride Month. From today’s acclaimed queer poetry to lesbian romance set in Los Alamos, join the staff for a night of reading recommendations. The community is invited to share book suggestions or just come to listen.

Literary works to be discussed include The Game by Jan Gayle, an enemies-to-lovers lesbian romance that plays out at Los Alamos’s own County Golf Course; a collection of narratives entitled Gender Euphoria: Stories from Trans, Non-Binary, and Intersex Writers by Laura Kate Dale; queer poetry by Lambda Literary Awards winners and finalists; and more.

The program will be facilitated by library staff member Samuel Buelow who holds a PhD in anthropology from Indiana University Bloomington.

This program is free to the public and offered in a hybrid format, both in person and on Zoom. Registration is required for either option. Visit the library’s event calendar at LosAlamosLibrary.org for more information or to sign up. In-person attendees will gather in the upstairs conference room at Mesa Public Library at 2400 Central Ave.
