When the National Museum of the American Indian opened in Washington, D.C. in 2004, Yungotsuna was chosen to be one of the featured artists. He has made many pieces on commission including a Great Horned Owl he carved for the Emperor of Japan.
“Elmer has great stories to tell and is a lot of fun,” Museum Store Manager Nancy Colvert said. “We are honored to have him demonstrating at the museum and know you will enjoy meeting him. We will also have Elmer’s work for sale, of course, as part of the store’s mission to support living Southwestern artists.”
