Mary Martucci, Ph.D., Named UNM-LA Science Department Chair

Mary B. Martucci, Ph.D., who has served as an adjunct chemistry professor at UNM-LA since the 2013 summer semester, was recently named Science Department Chair.

With a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa., and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo., Martucci brings a wealth of knowledge to the position. She worked as a graduate teaching assistant at Colorado State and as a graduate research assistant at LANL before completing her Ph.D.

Besides teaching at UNM-LA, Martucci served as the instructional safety officer in January 2015.

This semester Martucci will teach General Chemistry Lab I and Integrated Organic Chemistry + Biochemistry classes. As the Science Department Chair, she will fulfill additional administrative responsibilities.
