ALBUQUERQUE — Make-A-Wish New Mexico has announced that it was able to grant 108 life-changing wishes in Fical Year 2023 ending Aug. 31.
These wishes were granted to children battling critical illnesses across New Mexico.
A wish is more than a singular moment in time, it provides the gift of hope to a child who is navigating a medical journey full of obstacles and challenges. When a wish comes true, it sparks joy and creates hope in a child, their family, and the community around them.
These wishes would not have been possible without the generosity of so many community supporters and New Mexico businesses, who have stepped up to make wishes a reality. There are 149 children battling critical illnesses in New Mexico waiting for their wish.
Make-A-Wish New Mexico expressed confidence to be able to grant each one of those wishes because the community always comes together to make a child’s wish come true.
“We are extremely grateful for the generosity of New Mexicans who are helping transform lives through the gift of hope,” said President & CEO Sara Lister of Make-A-Wish New Mexico. “We know that a wish provides a child with the chance to focus on life outside of their diagnosis and gives them a chance to just be a kid again.”
