MainStreet Announces Dates For 2015 Events

MAINSTREET News:

Preparations for this year’s Los Alamos MainStreet events are well underway and applications are now available online for vendors, exhibitors, participants and sponsors.

This year, Los Alamos ScienceFest is July 16-19. The 2015 theme is “The Secret City Unlocked” and will kick off with events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Trinity Site Test. The festival day at historic Ashley Pond Park will again feature interactive displays and hands-on exhibits. Historic tours have also been added to the festival this year.

“ScienceFest is constantly evolving into a bigger and better event that draws in visitors from all over,” said Suzette Fox, director of Los Alamos MainStreet. “From historic tours and fun exhibits, children’s activities, arts & crafts, live entertainment, there is something for everyone. It’s a great opportunity to come downtown and enjoy what makes Los Alamos special.”

Other Los Alamos MainStreet events to mark on your calendar include:

  • County Fair and Rodeo Parade trots up Central Avenue Aug. 8;
  • Halloweekend haunts downtown Oct. 30-31; and
  • Winterfest sparkles Dec. 4-6.
