The League’s monthly community event, Lunch with a Leader is at 11:45 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, in Mesa Library. The speaker-leader will be Terry Priestly.
Terry and his wife, Robin, along with their 3 kids, have been Los Alamos residents for just over 20 years. Terry is currently the Chair of the Los Alamos County Personnel Board and the Chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Growing up, Terry had the opportunity to live in several states and Puerto Rico. Moving every 2-3 years, Terry attended 12 schools before graduating High School.
Terry has a BS in Chemistry from Christian Brothers University and a MS in Engineering Management. He is a veteran of the US Navy and served as a commissioned Officer in the Navy’s Nuclear Submarine Program, spending most of his time either at-sea, or in Washington State. After separating from the Navy, Terry obtained an NRC Senior Reactor Operator’s license within the commercial nuclear power industry.
Since arriving in Los Alamos, Terry has been actively involved in several community programs such as Boy Scouts of America, Little League and Leadership Los Alamos.
At this month’s meeting, Terry will be discussing the role of the Planning and Zoning Commission including the county’s focus on developing new housing opportunities.
