She’ll also discuss the types of issues that go before the Parks and Recreation Board and address some of the more notable issues this board has tackled during her tenure, including the recreation bond, the capital improvement projects that were funded after the bond failed, and the ballfield assessment of last spring. She’ll also talk about the County’s Open Space program and related projects such as the flow trail.
Nakhleh is from Los Alamos, has a degree in English literature from UNM, and spent most of her career in freelance writing and editing.
The second speaker at this meeting is Dina Pesenson who will go over some of the recently highlighted health and environmental impact concerns of two pesticides commonly used in this county, places where they are sprayed and frequency of use. She also will describe the County’s efforts to work with citizens’ concerns as well as steps forward that community members can take to minimize the pesticide use here.
